Hi! I’m Dave Platt. I have been assisting people like you with their insurance and investment plans in the Salt Lake area for over 25 years now.
I graduated summa cum laude from Southern Utah University in 1976 with a BS degree in music education. I taught high school band for three years and then went to work in a family owned music store. During this time, I experienced the challenges of providing for my family’s financial security. Since 1983, I have been working in the insurance industry. As president of Platt Insurance Agency, I help families and small businesses meet their financial goals.
My wife, Gaye Stucki Platt, and I have three children. All three are grown and married. As of today, we have 7 grandchildren who are the delight of our lives. Gaye works at the Lion House in downtown Salt Lake City helping plan wedding luncheons, receptions and other types of events at the Lion House.
As you can see, I am just a regular Utah type husband and father who loves his family and likes to take care of them. I face the same challenges that you all face in paying the bills, making payroll and providing for those whom we love. We at Platt Insurance Agency always keep this in mind and always try to do what is best for the customer. I was born in the small town of Ashton Idaho, more years ago than I would like to admit. I married my high school sweetheart. He served in the United States Air Force until he retired, so we lived in many places, including three years in England.
We raised three boys, all “Air Force Brats”. They have turned out to be great citizens! I have 3 grandsons and a granddaughter… the best grandchildren in the world (don’t tell David I said that, he thinks his are).
I joined Platt Insurance Agency in 1997. What started out as a part time job, has evolved into a second family. The philosophy of Platt Insurance Agency has always been “family first”, allowing me to be a working mom, while still being very involved in my families activities. Micah Platt
I am a hardworking Utah State Alumni who is involved in the community. I played rugby and lacrosse in college. This allowed me to help coach some of the high school teams in Cache Valley.
After graduation I worked for Auto-Owners Insurance as an underwriter. I excelled and became the point of contact for many agencies. I answered questions, solved problems, and trained new Auto-Owners agents in Utah about insurance coverages, both commercial and personal.
My wife, Tawni, and I were blessed with our baby girl, Isla, in October of 2010. To enable Tawni to be a full time mom I contacted David about the opportunity to work for the agency. In January 2011 I was hired and hit the ground running. I work hard for my clients finding the best policies at the best value.

Tyler Harris
Tyler joined Platt Insurance in May of 2010 as a Commercial & Personal Insurance Advisor. Tyler has a passion for working with local businesses, identifying and fulfilling their needs. In 2010 he earned the designation of Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). Tyler holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from The University of Utah. He resides in Holladay, UT with his wife and two children. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, boating, hunting, fishing, and attending sporting events.

Harold Bowman
Harold Bowman is a long time resident of Utah and has been very active in Boy Scouts as well as other community activities. Harold currently lives in Bluffdale, UT and works from home as well as our office in Taylorsville. Harold has been with Platt Insurance Agency for 2 1/2 years and finds that he can help his customers find the best insurance value for them. He also is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with clients who prefer to communicate in Spanish.
